Nightlife

Frank Bay has an active nightlife, as these kayakers are discovering. Tarpon gather around, hunting the baitfish that are attracted by the lights at the bottom of the kayaks. Eagle rays glide through the water and the nocturnal nurse shark comes out of her resting spot to swim through, looking for a meal. The corals extend their polyps to feed, giving the reef a fuzzy look. Close to the ocean floor, the blue tang huddle together for the night and a parrotfish blows bubbles around to hide its scent from predators. Underneath the coral arch, a green sea turtle finds a cozy place to sleep for the night.
